I decided to attend SCAD because I always knew I would be in a creative field, due to my tendency to hobby hop. At first I thought I would go into fashion, but I realized I liked other aspects of that more than actually making garments. Such as photoshoots, set design for fashion, and product advertisements. When I attended my first year, I found out that advertising was the major that could provide me with the space I needed to pursue many things at once. Advertising encapsulates everything. Fashion, photography, copywriting, beauty, set design, etc. I found that I could learn about everything I wanted to learn about, while also learning about things I never would’ve sought out to learn unless prompted. I found that my intense sense of empathy made me decent at advertising, because of my ability to understand different demographics and tailor content for them specifically. Outside of that, my true passion is shedding light on shunned communities and I’m hoping I can build a platform and create more than just advertisements. My goal is help anyone who views my work to understand that there are others that will admire their differences.
